How it Works

January and February: Get your band together and start practicing
By February 21: Submit your band’s audition video
February 24–28: Semi-finalist and public voting
March 13: Finalists perform at the DC Band Together Event – Battle for Glory at Gypsy Sally’s

Bands

At least one member of each Band must work in advertising, marketing, communications, or media. Bands must consist of at least two people, but not be more than eight people. Agencies/Companies can enter more than one band (so no need to worry about your punk rock style not meshing with your colleague’s smooth jazz quartet.)

Songs

Each band must submit an audition video of the band performing up to two (2) songs. The songs can be cover songs or original songs. The videos must be hosted on YouTube.

Submission Period

The submission period runs from January 2014 to February 21, 2014.

Judging and Selection of Performing Bands

A panel of judges will review all submissions and choose a shortlist of semi-finalists (final number to be determined based on the quantity of entries received) who are eligible to perform at the DC Band Together Event.

The shortlisted bands will be featured on the DCBandTogether.com website, where the public will vote on their favorites

The popular vote combined with the judges scoring will determine the final 6 bands to perform at the Battle for Glory on March 13, 2014 at Gypsy Sally’s.

DC Band Together Event

The event will take place on March 13, 2014 at Gypsy Sally’s in Georgetown of Washington, DC.

The performing bands will battle it out on stage. Each band will perform up to three (3) songs or up to 10 minutes. The audience will vote for each act, with one winning band announced at the end of the show.

The event will be open to the marketing, advertising, communications and media community as well as the public-at-large. Start spreading the word to all of your friends and colleagues! Additional information on tickets will be coming soon.

Doors 7PM. Show 8PM. Come early for the best seats. Plan to have dinner and enjoy the best farm-to-table club food in town.

Thanks to all of our semi-finalists who entered. Our voting has officially closed and our finalists have been chosen! With a total of 2,878 votes, our Battle of the Bands will be between:
